Hello Reader! My name is Michael and I’d like to use this article to introduce myself and explain the scope of this blog.

First of all, I am an avid outdoorsman.  Backpacking & wild camping are my main pursuits, but I also dabble in fishing & hunting. I love everything “bushcraft” or “woodscraft” or whatever the accepted terminology is today!

I’ve roamed the western scrublands of Texas, the southern bayous of Louisiana and was finally transplanted by marriage to the eastern woodlands of Tennessee which I now call home.

I plan to write instructional articles on wilderness survival, camp setups, fire lays, etc., as well as share my woodland experiences.

So welcome to the woods! I hope you enjoy your stay so much that you’ll return to this campfire from time to time!
